DESCRIPTION OF PIECE

It's 2050 and the world has gone mad. But one woman is determined to throw off the patriarchal systems that keep us divided and broken, once and for all. This one hour, one woman romp -- filled with naughty animal poetry and perimenopausal standup -- will inspire you to step into your power and create a new world.
All proceeds from performances of Beastly will be shared with The Womxn Project, a local NGO advancing reproductive freedom, gender equity, and LGBTQ+ rights policy.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Melissa is a writer, comedic performer, and social justice organizer who is obsessed with making activism fun and joyful. "Beastly" -- which she wrote and performs in -- aims to do just that. The show has played to sold out audiences in Boston, and raised more than $15,000 for reproductive justice and climate organizations. In her "day job", she's raised millions of dollars for Corporate Accountability's climate campaign. Melissa grew up in London, and lives in Brookline, MA with amazing family and lab/pitt mutt Toby. In her spare time, she's active on social media as Olga, Russian dissident and menopausal manifestor, and Cassandra Thistlewaite-Crumby, King Charles' sex-mad jilted lover.
