DESCRIPTION OF PIECE

After accusing the ocean of stealing his shoe, a no-nonsense lighthouse keeper starts a fight with the ocean herself. As the conflict escalates into the storm of the century, the lighthouse keeper is driven to ever more desperate measures to keep the lighthouse wick burning. This seaside story explores the comedy and poetry of the isolation of living on a light-bearing rock.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

​Richie Whitehead is a clown, actor and teacher who loves creating and supporting imaginative, playful theatre. He is a graduate of the performance school Ecole Philippe Gaulier and has studied clown with teachers across the US, UK and France. He has created and performed in 7 original clown/physical comedy shows - including solo and ensemble shows and shows for younger audiences. Collaborations between his children's theatre company Captain Curiosity and WOW O'Clock have been performed over 300 times. Having lived in Providence for 5 years, he’s very happy to be back performing in Little Rhody for the first time since FringePVD 2018.
