DESCRIPTION OF PIECE
Shadow, Sound, Spectacle’s show, Literary Monsters, is a smart, spooky, punk rock theatrical experience that provides a fresh perspective on the works of Edgar Allen Poe, Mary Shelley, Washington Irving, Emily Dickinson, Anne Rice, and others through the marriage of original music by Jess Martin (Sound), shadow puppetry by Amy West (Shadow), and cinematography, special effects, and musical accompaniment by Abby Hanna (Spectacle). Whether you’re into puppetry, poetry, music, or just love a good story told in an unusual way— this show is for you. Come get weird with us.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Shadow, Sound, Spectacle is a multidisciplinary troupe that blends original music, shadow puppetry, video projection, and sound effects to create a captivating, theatrical, and sometimes whimsical immersive storytelling experience. We are: Jess Martin, a singer-songwriter based in Northampton, MA; Abby Hanna, a visual artist and musician based in Easthampton, MA; and Amy West, a puppeteer based in Boston, MA.
