Vibrations is an original performance art piece founded in movement and sound. Vibrations looks to experiment with movement and music-making to explore the different ways disabled/hard of hearing people experience sound. This project was conceived during the pandemic, and is an embodiment of Jenna's frustrations as a disabled being in able-bodied spaces and the uneven access of sound. Vibrations is a therapeutic exploration of how to queer sound, fight with sound, and celebrate sound in a performance space. You’ll follow The Body as they move through a series of dream scenes curiously exploring the Vibrations dreamscape. As the body begins to find their footing, they immerse themselves into the dreamscape and become a full part of it. This show is a journey through the consciousness of the body. Through this piece, we have sought to center joy, experimentation, and growth.
