It’s long-form improv unlike you’ve ever seen before. In this experiment in improvised theater, Marty Chandler plays every character and puts together an entirely made-up, brand new narrative every night the show is performed. Physically diverse characters, high-energy hijinks, unexpected plots, and a lot of laughs are certain to spill out, as audience members prompt suggestions and ideas throughout the story. Inspired by Everything Everywhere All at Once, this piece explores the manyness of the self and each of our potentials. If life is like one long-form improvisation, then why don’t we decide to become anyone, anywhere? ABOUT THE ARTIST Marty Chandler (he/any) is an improviser, writer, and collaborative theatermaker who loves a laugh, a large coffee, and long-form improv. Originally from Auburn, Washington and now based in New Haven, Connecticut, Marty has spent the past several years developing his signature long-form, single-story, single-performer improv style. He creates each new show with deliberate artistic choices in mind: the improv itself is fully spontaneous and unique on the night it's performed, but the theater behind it is intentional. Marty’s other work has been performed in the Yale Playwrights Festival, and earned him the Marina Keegan Prize for Excellence in Playwriting. |
