"LOST LOVE POEMS" is: A Solo Show -- A Spoken Word Performance At the intersection of Poetry and Theatre. It explores Love and Loss in a Time of Upheaval With a Sprinkling of fine, and not-so-fine, Dining Mixed in. It's an Experience that is: Personal. Raw. Intimate. & Wry* (*the mood, not to be confused with the bread, though both are marbled, nurturing, and start with sourdough). ABOUT THE ARTIST STEVEN BRUCE MYERSON is a playwright, poet, director, performer, producer, and artist. His plays have been presented at theaters and festivals in CA, CT, IL, MA, NY, and RI and include "REVELATIONS" at FRINGE PVD (2018), named an "Artist of the Day" selection. His social satire, "TO THE EXTREME!," described as "a political and poetic play for our times," was selected for a Winter Read for New Play Development at Provincetown Theater (2020) under the direction of Obie Award winning Artistic Director, David Drake. As a poet, he has read at the Coffeehouse at the MEWS, the Writer's Voice Cafe, and the Fine Arts Work Center, all in Provincetown, MA. He was selected by literary agent Adam Chromy as the closing reader for "Reading Local" at the Provincetown Book Festival (2019) and by author Lynne Hugo as the featured poet for "Reading Local" (2021). He is the recipient of a Summer Scholarship from the Fine Arts Work Center and a Protest Arts Micro-Grant from Brown University's Arts Initiative. |
