WomenInShorts Part Deux! Presented by WomensWorkTheatreRI - Two new original works written by Gayle Hanrahan and directed by Joanne Fayan, both founding mums at WomensWork! STILL HOT IN A WALMART When 60-year-old spitfire writer Noreen Hart locks eyes with Ali—a charming 23-year-old medical student from the Middle East—in Walmart - sparks fly. While her best friend Sharon frantically waves red flags (and occasionally a martini), Noreen dives headfirst into a romance with a much younger paramour. As their unlikely connection blossoms, both women discover that age is just a number, cultural differences make life spicy, and sometimes the best loves are the ones you never saw coming. A comedy about finding passion in unexpected places—and proving you're never too old to make terrible, wonderful decisions. DIRECTED BY JOANNE FAYAN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HUSBANDS AND CATS In the wee hours between hot flashes, Judy finds herself trapped in a nocturnal standoff: her husband's snoring could register on the Richter scale, while her cat judges her life choices with Olympic-level disdain. Armed with nothing but her wits and a fan on high, this middle-aged maestro conducts a hilarious late-night symphony about marriage survival, hormonal hurricanes, and her secret Broadway fantasies. Because when you're wide awake at 4 AM, you might as well put on a show! PERFORMED AND DIRECTED BY JOANNE FAYAN ABOUT THE ARTIST Gayle Hanrahan is a local RI playwright and actor. She is a founding member of WomensWork TheatreRI. WomensWork is a creative collaborative that aims to create opportunities for older women artists.
